guidance for the journey

follow the rabbit

We are being encouraged to grow and expand, to become a better, fuller version of ourselves.  What treasures have you gathered along the path of life that you are bringing with you into this new day and what are you ready to leave behind?  Ask yourself this question every morning.  Sometimes it's scary to leave behind what is comfortable and familiar, but you know in your heart what is serving you and what is not.  You know what you must do, there is that voice inside telling you.  Listen to it.  Use the energy that comes with a new day, a new moon, a new season, a new year.  They represent the start of a new cycle, a re-birth, a new beginning, a clean slate.  Doesn't just the sound of that ignite something inside of you?  Doesn't that alone, get you a little excited about what could be just around the corner?

Use that excitement to take the first step.  You don't have to see the full picture (why would you want to anyway, what fun is that?).  Just gather the strength and courage to take that first step and you will be guided to the next and the next.  Follow the rabbit.

from fullness, fullness comes out

It seems, very often, there comes a point that we get fed up and we say, enough is enough, it is time to make some changes.  This is actually a good place to be.  The energy of being fed up can be the fuel that motivates us to make some serious, much needed changes in our lives.  Though I feel it's worth noting...while being fed up can motivate us and invoke a feeling of determination, without discipline and daily introspection, we can find ourselves retreating to the behaviors that no longer serve us.  It can be easy to lose some of the momentum that we had when we were so gung ho about making changes in our lives.

be the example

The season of Spring is a re-birth process that nature gives itself, it also influences us, since we are part of nature as well This time of year inspires us to embrace the new.  When we feel inspired to make changes we often think that others should be inspired as well.  Maybe they will, but in their own time.

We may think we can plainly see what is best for someone else or what would help them.  But, it's not up to us to change others.  Although we are all connected, each of us are on our own path, our own journey... each of has our own lessons to learn.  If you are choosing to release self-defeating thoughts and behaviors, don't expect those around you to do the same.  It is amazing the tension and pressure that drops when you realize that there is nothing for you to fix in others.  It can be a valuable gift to practice the art of teaching by example.

true freedom

Have you set yourself free from the chains of fear?

What is freedom?

Though you may consider yourself free, it is easy to become a slave to others.  Even more disheartening, we become a slave to ourselves.  A slave to our negative thoughts and emotions, to our addictions and unhealthy behaviors.  A slave to our fears when we allow them to control our lives.

take back your power

When you begin to understand that your thoughts create your world, you begin to become more aware of how you think, how you feel, what you say and how you behave.  You may notice that there are some negative thought patterns still controlling you.

Old fear habits keep rising, causing havoc to yourself and those around you, because you are giving your power to the fear and it is taking power from you.  Instead of allowing your thoughts to dictate your feelings, thus creating negative experiences, stop the cycle in its tracks.  Recognize that this habit is coming up as a gift, to show you what needs to be released and healed.
